It’s well known that Pixar is one of the best in the business when it comes to animated films. From Toy Story to Up to Brave, the studio has produced masterpiece after masterpiece for Disney. That trend shows no signs of stopping, and the first teaser for upcoming release Coco proves that point.
Coco takes place in Mexico and centers around a young boy named Miguel (Anthony Gonzalez). Miguel is a musician, a trait he’s picked up from watching old videos of a music and television star named Ernesto de la Cruz (Benjamin Bratt). Miguel goes to find Cruz’s old guitar, and upon strumming it finds himself transported to the Land of the Dead. Being a Pixar film, the animation, of course, looks gorgeous, and the vivid color pallet as the Land of the Dead is revealed will look fantastic on a big screen. Watch the teaser here:
Coco is helmed by Pixar mainstays Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina, the latter of whom also served as writer. Starring Renee Victor and Gael García Bernal alongside Gonzalez and Bratt, the movie will be released November 22, the day before Thanksgiving.
