Ever since Japandroids announced their new album Near To The Wild Heart Of Life and released the title track for it, we’ve been impatiently waiting to hear more stellar music from the duo. Brian King and David Prowse have heard us, and today released the second single from the album, “No Known Drink Or Drug.”
The song carries the unmistakable Japandroids sound to it, built on the back of a breakneck guitar riff and the duo’s infectious energy. Lyrically, the song is a love ballad of sorts, recalling the build-up of a romance. “No known drink, no known drug could ever hold a candle to your love” is the rallying cry of the song, tying the title into the story.
