Wet Leg’s late night show ahead of Lollapalooza sold out in minutes.

Last year, we went to Wet Leg’s sold out show at The Salt Shed and were blown away by their performance. So it’s no surprise that their set ahead of Lollapalooza sold out even faster. Lead singer Rhian Teasdale and crew were in top form on Wednesday night, playing hits from both of their albums. The Vic is a fairly intimate venue; with a capacity of 1,400, fans filled every spot on the floor and every seat in the balcony. Although, once Wet Leg came onstage, very few fans stayed seated.
The band opened their set with “Catch These Fists”, their hit single from their sophomore album Moisturizer. Teasdale emerged onstage from behind massive clouds of fog and into a sea of strobe lights. From a photography perspective, it was an insanely hard show to capture; not just because of the strobes and fog, but because the energy was almost intangible. Fans had waited hours to be in the front row, and while many of them would be headed to Lollapalooza later that week, this was their chance to be just a few feet away from Wet Leg. 
Following “Catch These Fists”, Wet Leg played “Oh No”, one of their oldest songs as a band. They played “Oh No” at their first ever live set back in 2019, and it remains a fan favorite. They powered their way through their biggest hits and quieter songs as well, including “11:21”, which they played live for the first time last year at their Salt Shed show. Wet Leg’s energy and sound was on point as always, no doubt in preparation for being onstage at one of the biggest festivals in the world soon after. This intimate and personal show was one that very few fans were lucky enough to experience. There’s no doubt in my mind that Wet Leg will be selling out some of the biggest venues in Chicago on their next tour.
