Russian, singer-songwriter, Rita Mercury, recently released her single “Nobody” which is beginning to catch fire. The song begins with dreamy synths and airy vocals from Mercury reminding us a little of pop artist SZA. The single stays right in the pocket and doesn’t change much in tempo which lends well with the sound and vocal style. This is a very chill song that you could add to your cocktail party playlist!
In addition to music, Mercury has also lended her talents to acting and theatrical producing. She graduated from the Russian Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS), one of the best state universities in Moscow, and has worked on a TV series and in theater projects. For the past three years, Mercury has worked in theater and in short films. Her acting experience has shaped her story telling which has bled into the lyrics in her music. Mercury, now a resident in NYC, is just beginning her journey in music and based on her single “Nobody”, she definitely seems to be on the right path!
