You come from a small town. Do you feel like it’s a big misconception that artists that come from unknown locations have a harder time making it in music compared to those from major cities?

I don’t feel that it is harder to become an artist from a small town. Small town or big city, it doesn’t matter! It all depends on how hard you’re willing to work to chase your dream and make it come true. It’s all about putting in the hard work to get found and heard.

Share your thoughts behind making “The Look In Your Eyes” and the effect it will have on country music?

The making of the look in your eyes was so fun. Getting to work with my team and work with the love of my life in our video was amazing. The memories and moments that I will cherish forever in my heart of the making of The Look in Your Eyes video will stay with me forever! This video is going to impact Country music so much. It’s going to give couples a song that they can sing to each other and show each other their love through lyrics. It’s going to give single people a song to sing and dream about what they will have one day in a relationship. Amazing things are happening.

How much fun has it been discovering yourself as an artist?

It has been a blast getting to know what I truly love about music and how many others love music the same way I do. I have dreamed about playing music and writing music my whole life. And knowing I’m gonna get to do that for the rest of my life brings me so much joy. I was born for this.

Explain the importance of faith when it comes to creating music?

The importance of faith in creating music is to never doubt yourself and believe that someone somewhere needs to hear the song that you’re writing. There is a hurting person that is going to relate to the song that you’re writing in the moment. Keep writing, and don’t doubt yourself!

How do you balance the type of music you want to make and what your fans want to hear?

My fans want to hear my music because I create music that I love. My fans love my music because they know it’s authentic and something they’ve never heard before! They don’t want me to change my type of music or try to mix it with other sounds. They’re my fans because I do my thing, and they enjoy it. I do adapt and play cover songs for people who like those. I do it to make them happy! And I enjoy doing that too.

You come from a family with a lot of love and vast musical background. Are there any traditions you take with you from your childhood into recording music today?

Yes, there are. Ever since I started playing shows, I stop before each show, and sit in my truck and read “Psalms 100.” It talks about how to “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, Serve the lord with gladness and come before his presence with singing.” And that’s what I plan to do for the rest of my life and my career with music.

Tell us about some new experimental sounds you’ve embedded into your music?

So I’ve done a little bit of experimenting with some hip-hop beats and rap, it wasn’t really my type, but the song ended up being pretty cool. I’ve also experimented with more slow songs and R&B feel. A lot of different genres I’ve messed around with, but Country is definitely my favorite.

Tell us about some of the pitfalls and lessons you’ve learned throughout the course of your career?

I’ve learned that nothing comes easy. It takes a lot of hard work and determination. There have been times where I have thought about giving up on my dream, but I kept pushing and moving forward, and God has blessed me this far.

Where do you see the future of country music headed?

I see Country music changing people’s lives forever. I see Country music bringing people hope and joy, and love in the darkest places of their hearts and minds! I see Country music giving people a second chance and I see the testimony of the artists helping to change others’ lives for the better.
