Austin-based indie electro-pop band SWELLS have released a brand new song and video called “Lights Out.” The electronics are dark and twisted, combining with airy vocals to draw you in to the band’s world. In the “Lights Out” video, city lights and glittering rhinestones combine with dark, shadowy visions of the band performing to bring this feeling to life.

SWELLS says about the song,

“‘Lights Out’ is a track that was a little out of our comfort zone to write. It’s a bit darker & edgier than we normally sound, but I love the way it turned out  – we worked with Mobley & Dwight Baker who co-wrote and co-produced the track with us. The song is about calling someone out on their bullshit, which seems to be a theme of our generation. It has an underlying theme of revenge, but can definitely be interpreted in different ways.”

SWELLS have played festivals like Austin City Limits, SXSW, and Float Fest, and they’re currently on tour with fellow Austin residents Missio; check out all of the dates here.
