Weezer is about to release a new studio album on March 1st titled The Black Album, but more recently, the band is promoting the release of The Teal Album – a collection of cover songs by Weezer featuring their “Africa” cover. Today, the band is streaming their “Take On Me” music video, a cover featured on The Teal Album, originally made famous by Aha! The cover album hit shelves last month.

The “Take On Me” video features “a young Rivers Cuomo” as the frontman for his band Avant Garde, which was his original band before Weezer. Though Cuomo’s initial band was a metal band, the funk-pop cover is very well-executed. Weezer will release The Black Album on March 1st via Atlantic/Crush Music. The Black Album features the singles “Can’t Knock the Hustle” and “Zombie Bastards.” The album serves as the band’s follow-up to 2017’s Pacific Daydream which was nominated for Best Rock Album at this year’s Grammys but lost to Greta Van Fleet’s From the Fires.
