Just 10 days after concluding their New Zealand and Australia tour, Grizzly Bear will accompany fellow indie-rock band Spoon for a co-headlining tour across the U.S. The pair are riding the wave of their latest releases, Painted Ruins and Hot Thoughts. Both albums made their debuts in 2017.
Beginning March 24, Grizzly Bear will take the stage without Spoon at the In Bloom Festival held in Houston, TX. They convene at Blue Hills Bank Pavilion in Boston, MA on June 18. Grizzly Bear will close out the tour at their first ever headline show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA on Sept. 23. Additional festival dates are coming soon.
Tickets go on sale Friday, March 9 at 10 a.m. local time and are available for purchase here. Proceeds from the tour will help prevent gun violence and build safer communities by donating a dollar from each ticket sold to PLUS1 — an organization “building a movement for good” by connecting performing artists, audiences and causes.
PLUS1 believes that “artists have always been on the forefront of change,” and began after popular band Arcade Fire engaged their audience to support Haiti. After recent school shootings, a focal point of media coverage include efforts to support gun violence prevention.
Each dollar raised will go directly to the support fund at Everytown for Gun Saftey — the recipient organization who centers the issue of gun violence believed to touch every town in America.
