Here’s the thing about relationships: they aren’t always so simple. Sometimes you find yourself in a tough situation and have to work your way out of it. It can be frightening and take a lot of courage to finally do it. Sometimes a relationship isn’t always just you and another person, like maybe you thought it was. If you ask Hungover vocalist Three’s Company Marc Cortes, that’s exactly what their new song “Three’s Company” is about.
Cortes simply states: ““’Three’s Company’ is a song about being on the wrong end of a love triangle and getting yourself out of an awkward situation.”
We’re pleased to be premiering “Three’s Company” today — which appears on Hungover’s upcoming EP, WILT. The EP was originally released back in 2016, but they are gearing up to re-release it on March 30th via Smartpunk Records. The re-release features the original 5 songs from the EP, plus three additional new songs, with “Three’s Company” being the first new music released from the re-release.
If “Three’s Company” is the first taste you’ve had of Hungover, then prepare to be pleasantly surprised. Behind Cortes’ Patrick Stump-esque vocals are a band with tight musicianship to craft an upbeat alt-rock track. Once you hear the chorus, you’ll be humming along to the lines of: “You take my love and leave / and I cannot believe / that you are doing this to me / this romance became a crowd at three.”
If you like what you hear, then we’ve got a couple bits of good news for you. As we mentioned earlier, the WILT re-release is just over a month away with a March 30 release and pre-orders are up now. In addition, they will be hitting the road with Above It All beginning next month. The tour will kick off on February 17 in Jacksonville, Florida and will wrap up on March 8 in Provo, Utah.
