Getting his start in Minneapolis’ thriving music scene, Derek Smith a.k.a Mod Sun brings something different to the national hip-hop community. With his personal mantra, “Movements On Dreams Stand Under None”, Mod Sun has developed a cult personality that has attracted thousands of loyal fans who have fallen in love with his variation on hip hop, and his vibrant energy that follows him everywhere.
Constantly pushing creative boundaries as a producer and artist, this past year has been an eventful one for Smith with the release of his acclaimed album Movie, a tour with Blackbear, and his own spring headlining tour. Building upon this gaining momentum, Mod Sun has just released his self produced surprise album BB !
