Indianapolis, Indiana and Nashville, Tennessee band It’s Just Craig is gearing up to release a brand new album, titled Dark Corners, on June 30. Mostly a conceptual release, the album features 10 tracks of experimental, Americana-tinged indie rock.
Just before creator Craig Helmreich’s 40th birthday, he took off to San Francisco with a group of friends—Elijah Ford, John Vanderslice, Marc Ford, Kirsten Ford, Jason Slota and Rob Shelton—with a set of songs they were ready to put to tape. Thus, It’s Just Craig crafted their first record, Blood On The Table, and less than two years after its release the band is still going strong.
The newest track to be shared from the upcoming release, Dark Corners, following “Go,” is a mellow indie rock cut with electronic flourishes that feel spacey and hypnotizing. Fans of various bands ranging from I Monster to Eels will find some solace in the sounds of It’s Just Craig. You can stream “Goodnight” below for a taste of what’s to come on Dark Corners at the end of the month.
On June 30, It’s Just Craig will celebrate the release of Dark Corners at HI-FI Indy in Indianapolis with Von Strantz, Jeff Kelly, and the McDonalds supporting. All information for tickets can be found here.
