Two weeks ago, we shared Gordi’s haunting single “Heaven I Know,” an ode to a dying friendship. The single came with a lyric video, but today the track has received the full-fledged music video treatment. Needless to say, it’s just as affecting as the song.
The video finds Gordi (Sophie Payten) standing alone in a sparsely decorated room. As she sings, old photographs flash across the screen. While singing about the decay of the friendship, time begins to fast forward around her, sending the room from day into night before settling into an auburn twilight. It’s the perfect thematic counterpart for the track, even more so than the lyric video that came before it.
Gordi’s debut album, Reservoir, is set for release on August 25 through Jagjaguwar.
