I’ll be the first to admit that my relationship with the music of Ed Sheeran is something I typically relate to my feelings toward medicine. I rarely find myself needing it, but sometimes it can be the only thing that makes you feel better. Perhaps your love of Sheeran is far more unapologetic, and if so – great. But I think we can all agree his new video for “Galway Girl” is something quite special.
Starring Sheeran and Brooklyn star Saoirse Ronan, the official video for “Galway Girl” finds the pair having the time of their lives as they run through the streets and bars of Galway, Ireland. The entire clip is shot from Ed’s perspective, offering viewers a glimpse at what it’s like to be the most famous person in all of Ireland when you’re trying to have a few drinks with a pretty girl at the bar. We see Ed and Saoirse dance, drink, dance some more, drink again, and even get into a fight (Ed, not Saoirse).
“Galway Girl” follows “The Shape of You” as the second single off Sheeran’s recently released record. Something tells me as summer begins this song will be one that is almost impossible to avoid. Comment below and let us know if you agree.
