Suicide is a serious issue. There’s no other way to put it. It’s sadly still an issue that affects many people, and it shouldn’t be taken lightly. Even when it’s only a side subject of a piece of media, it’s often difficult to portray it with the gravity it deserves. That’s the subject that new Netflix Original Film The Discovery is centered around in its first trailer.

The movie is set in a world where the afterlife has been proven to exist. This news has triggered a massive epidemic of suicide. The film follows Will (Jason Segel) and Isla (Rooney Mara), both of whom have been touched by this tragedy. The description for the movie classifies it as a love story between the two as they cope with the new knowledge the world has. Watch the trailer:

The Discovery begins streaming on Netflix on March 31. And please, if you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, you can call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
