Back in November, Eminem joined forces with Beyonce to release “Walk On Water”, the lead single from his ninth studio album Revival. “Walk On Water” is the first track on the album and with a focus on a simple piano part it stands in contrast to most of his opening tracks, but there’s something undeniably special about how his and Beyonce’s vocals intertwine in the chorus. Revival was released on December 15 via Aftermath Entertainment, Shady Records, and Interscope Records, and now, Eminem has released a music video to go along with the song, which can be seen above.

The video begins with Eminem sitting in a chair looking at a microphone stand, alone in an empty room. As hands begin typing on a typewriter, he stands up and takes to the mic, and as the lights come up we realize he’s not in an empty room after all but on a stage in a theater. While a detailed set is built behind him, he struggles to find the right words and page after page from the typewriter is full of random letters and nonsense words. Crowds enter and leave the theater for show after show before Eminem finds himself walking on (frozen) water, seemingly in search of some form of meaning.

Revival is now available on major retailers and streaming services. Eminem has not yet announced tour dates in support of Revival, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see those coming soon. Make sure you’re following Substream on Twitter so you don’t miss an update.
