“I need a Spice Girl / Zig-a-zig-ah / fuck up my whole world”

Despite earning multi-platinum certification and releasing one of the catchiest albums of the year we could not blame anyone for feeling that Aminé is still flying under the radar of most music fans. The rapper, whose debut album Good For You was released out just as summer was coming to a close, has found the bulk of his success away from top 40. That may soon change with the release of his new single, “Spice Girl,” but even if it fails to win over terrestrial radio there is a good chance the song’s impressive visuals will make it a viral sensation in no time at all.

Featuring appearances from Issa Ray and Mel B the official video for “Spice Girl” offer yet another strange journey into the creative mind of Aminé. The rapper is first spotted rapping while seated on a couch where a naked female model with his face is lying across his lap. From there, audiences can watch as Aminé rubs lotions all over his body, speaks to Issa Ray from a jail cell, and gets cussed out by an actual member of the Spice Girls. It’s a crazy combination of nostalgia and stupidity that’s just smart enough to keep you engaged throughout its runtime. You can view the video for “Spice Girl” above.
