Country music rising artist Greylan James is shooting his shot with his brand new single, “Who Broke Up With You.”
Written by James alongside heavy-hitters Brad Clawson and Ashley Gorley, the upbeat, made-for-summer song finds James breaking modern-day barriers of inauthentically flirting online, to instead, roll the dice and talk to a girl in person.
Made for the 20-somethings who dare to put themselves out there and make the moment count when the opportunity arrives, “Who Broke Up With You” marks James’ first song release since his Song of the Year win at the 2024 ACM Awards.
“I’ve been counting down the days to this song dropping, and I couldn’t be more through the roof with excitement about it finally being out there,” said James. “This song is for anyone who is better off without the person that didn’t know what they had when they had it. Y’all crank it up loud for me.”

James first came onto the artist scene with his debut single “Young Man,” released last October. The acoustic-anchored song, penned by James and esteemed Nashville songwriters Jacob Davis and Josh Miller, spills the tale of a younger man finding wisdom in the teachings of his elders. Already established as an acclaimed songwriter, James has earned cuts from some of Country music’s most notable artists including Kenny Chesney, Chris Young, Cole Swindell, Darius Rucker, Chris Janson, Bailey Zimmerman, Breland and more. He landed his first No. 1 song with Jordan Davis’ “Next Thing You Know,” which also earned James his first ACM Awards win and CMA Awards nomination for Song of the Year.
James has joined Country stars Old Dominion, Cole Swindell, Scotty McCreery and more on the road, and this fall, he will join Ashley Cooke on her “your place Tour.” Starting this fall and continuing into early 2025, the tour will hit 17 cities across the country including Chicago, New York City and more.
