Daughtry releases anthemic new single “Nervous”

Daughtry has returned with an anthemic new angsty single built for the anxious, “Nervous,” which is out now via Big Machine Rock.

Frontman Chris Daughtry wrote the song about his own battle with anxiety after experiencing significant loss, in effort to pull back the curtain on his own life. The vulnerable new single also showcases a different sound for the usual high-octane rock band, featuring haunting, synth-driven instrumentals to deliver the deeply personal message. 

“It’s a complicated feeling when you find yourself stuck in a cycle of anxiety and depression from the punches that life inevitably throws – you’re feeling alone and lost, but you don’t even know why you still feel that way, because everything seems insurmountable,” Daughtry articulates. “This song represents the importance of opening up and being honest about those feelings.”

“Nervous” continues to usher in a fine-tuned sound and new era for Daughtry, as they continue to the rollout for their debut Big Machine Rock EP set for release this fall. It will join the previously released “Pieces” and “Artificial” on the new release.
