For many viewers, the cast of A Shop of Killers is probably one of the best things about this K-drama. Well, who wouldn’t love a Lee Dong-wook drama, right? But alongside him, there are a lot of seasoned and highly regarded stars you probably loved in other dramas. To name a few:

Plot

The plot of this drama revolves around an uncle (Jeong Jin-man) and his niece (Jeong Ji An). When Ji An was still a kid, her mother was murdered by his own father. His father later committed suicide during her grandmother’s wake. This set of unfortunate events left Ji An all alone, but her kindhearted Uncle Jin-man invited her to live with him.

While Jin-man was raising Ji An, he was running this mysterious shopping mall. Years later, Ji An had to move out for her studies. One day, Ji An discovered that his uncle died so she went back home. She’s now left with an inheritance that she needs to run. From here on, she’ll discover the nature of her uncle’s work as she looks into the real cause of her uncle’s death.

Our Verdict: 9/10

Just to set the bar, A Shop for Killers has received an 8.5 rating on IMDb and a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. For us, we rate this K-drama a solid 9 out of 10 simply because we want a season two, and there’s no confirmation yet on whether it will happen or not. But it’s still too early to confirm, so that’s fine.

Kidding aside, we’ve rated this K-drama a 9 because everything worked well like it’s supposed to be. Jin-man’s character’s complexity and mysteriousness, the well-rounded cast, and the story itself. If you like an action-packed drama, this series is definitely worth your every second. We just hope it will be made available on other streaming platforms like Netflix, Hulu, or DISH TV so more people can see how beautiful this series is.

Possibility of Season 2 *SPOILER ALERT*

The ending of A Shop for Killers shows that Jin-man survived. That fact alone gave a lot of viewers hope for the possibility of a second season. A recent statement by the director Lee Kwon during an interview states that he wants to go deeper into Jin-man’s past in season 2. However, he clarified that there’s no concrete plans for season 2 yet.

Conclusion

There’s no denying that A Shop for Killers is another success for K-drama fans. It’s the type of show that will keep you wanting for more even after the last episode. Even though season 2 isn’t confirmed yet, the door isn’t entirely closed! So, if you enjoyed the ride and crave more, be sure to voice your support for season 2 online and maybe, just maybe, we’ll see Jeong Jin-man again.
