When you’re feeling down, it can be easy to try to turn to frivolous things to fill the void. Retail therapy, going out every night, and generally trying to push the problems to the back of the mind are all common forms this takes. While it may work in the short-term, it’s definitely not a good solution and can often come back to haunt us later. That’s the subject matter of LA duo Bahari‘s (Natalia Panzarella and Ruby Carr) latest single “Chasers.” If the single doesn’t illustrate the point enough, the two have released an affecting music video to showcase what that avoidance looks like.

The video takes place in a gorgeous house perfect for throwing the ultimate party. That’s exactly what Panzarella and Carr are doing, with shots of people having fun, dancing, and generally getting loose. At the same time we see shots of the aftermath of the party with an empty house, and neither of the members of Bahari look all that happy. It’s a perfect pairing for the message of “Chasers,” and even the dim lighting fits the dark and moody electro-pop of the track.
