It’s been over four years since WHY? released their last full-length album, the arguably underrated and underappreciated Mumps, Etc. that dropped in late 2012 through Anticon. Although the band released their Golden Tickets EP shortly after, the lengthy wait for new WHY? material has been pretty unbearable for hardcore fans. Finally, though, Yoni Wolf and Co. have announced Moh Lhean, a 10-track effort to be released on March 3, 2017 through Joyful Noise and Anticon. VIP vinyl is already sold out but other variants and formats (CD and digital) are still available for pre-order, so snag a copy for yourself while you have the chance.

Along with the album announcement, the band shared a 45-second teaser video that shows some of Moh Lhean‘s art and features a clip of a song that we assume is on the album. WHY? has never shied away from lush and lighthearted instrumentation before but what we hear in this snippet is especially whimsical and inviting and definitely has our interest piqued. We’d be thrilled to get another Mumps or Alopecia but we’re all for a complete overhaul in sound as well. We believe that WHY? can really do no wrong.

Check out the teaser below along with the cover art for Moh Lhean and an extensive set of tour dates the band has revealed for 2017.
