High school meets heist thriller in trailer for Netflix’s ‘Coin Heist’


There are certain parts of high school that almost everyone can relate to in some way or another. That includes extracurricular activities, trying to keep your grades up, school dances, and robbing the United States Mint. Okay, maybe that last part doesn’t apply, but it is the plot of Netflix‘s upcoming film, Coin Heist.

An embezzlement scandal decimates the budget of Dennington Prep, which results in everything from the halting of any activities and the loss of scholarships. Naturally, four of the students band together in a plot to break into the Mint to steal flawed coins, which carry a hefty value for collectors. Check out the trailer:

Going by the trailer, the movie aims to combine John Hughes-esque high school students putting aside their differences with some Ocean’s Eleven-style heist action, and we’re definitely here for it.

Coin Heist will be available on Netflix on January 6. The film stars Sasha Pieterse, Elijah Boothe, Alexis G. Zall, and Alex Saxon.
