The stylish first trailer for ‘Ghost In The Shell’ is here

You’ve more than likely heard of Ghost In The Shell by now. The movie, based on the Japanese manga series of the same name, has faced a great deal of controversy ever since casting Scarlett Johansson as main character Major (Major Motoko Kusanagi in the manga). Amidst all this controversy, the first trailer for the film dropped over the weekend.

Major is fully cybernetic, and we see her in action against a collection of bad guys. The action in the trailer is stylish and slick, with lots of martial arts mixed in with the gunplay. The world of Ghost In The Shell is also breathtaking, with giant moving advertisements and tons of small futuristic details that make the world feel like a real place. Lest you think this will be just a straightforward action movie, there’s also the tease at the end of the trailer that all is not as it seems, as fans of the original franchise will know.
