Visit a world full of bears in Regina Spektor’s “Small Bill$” video

Regina Spektor’s Remember Us To Life came out last week. It’s really good! Today we got our first music video from the album for standout single “Small Bill$.” As with anything when it comes to Spektor, it’s nothing mundane.

The video takes place in a world where bears have taken the place of people. Turns out bears have a lot of the same problems as we do: They smoke, their banks get robbed, and they have to deal with mermaids. Okay, maybe they’re not exactly like us. Through it all, Spektor appears in several different roles, including what appears to be a Russian nesting doll saleswoman and a mermaid. The video was directed by Steven Mertens, and giving it a watch will help it to make way more sense than any description we could give.
