Radiohead groove in Paul Thomas Anderson-directed video for “The Numbers”

Back in May, Radiohead surprise-released their ninth album, A Moon Shaped Pool. It’s a pretty great album, and we got a few music videos around the release in support of it. Months later, we have another music video from the album, this time for “The Numbers.”

The band brought in the heavy hitters for this set of visuals, as Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Magnolia) is on hand to direct the video. Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood sit on benches in a picturesque forest, their instruments and equipment in contrast with all the nature surrounding them. We get a few different shots and angles of the duo playing, and the whole video is very calming and serene. It’s a setup that any musician would be thrilled with, and makes for a stunning backdrop to the song.
