The trailer focuses heavily on the events around JFK’s assassination, including an incredibly heart-wrenching shot of Portman as Jackie cradling her dying husband in her arms on the way to the hospital. The costume and makeup design is excellent, as Portman looks about as close to the First Lady as you’re likely to get. We see Jackie’s sorrow, anger, and resolve in equal parts after the death of JFK, and we’re optimistic that this film will give us the most nuanced look at Jackie Kennedy in a long while.
