‘Supersonic’ documentary aims to show the triumph and collapse of Oasis

Mention Oasis today, and you’re likely to get either a “Wonderwall” joke or yet another story of brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher fighting or saying awful things about one another. It’s sometimes easy to forget that back in the ’90s Oasis got about as big as a band can get. It’s that Oasis that new documentary Supersonic aims to cover.

Supersonic is being produced by the same group that produced last year’s absolutely wonderful Amy Winehouse documentary, Amy. The trailer for Supersonic carries a very similar vibe, with no present day interview footage—just old concert, news, and home video footage. We can attest that this choice made Amy captivating, and we have high hopes for Supersonic as well.

Give the trailer a watch below. Supersonic is coming to U.K. theaters October 2, with a release on Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital formats this Halloween.
