Brand New announce ‘The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me’ tour, delay album

The good news: In November, Brand New will celebrate the tenth anniversary of their 2006 magnum opus, The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me. Today, the band has announced that they will perform the record in full on their previously-announced tour with the Front Bottoms and Modern Baseball. This comes on the heels of breakup rumors that have surrounded the band this year, including multiple confirmations from the band on stage that the end is indeed approaching.

The bad news: The band’s heavily-delayed fifth LP has been delayed yet again. In a statement shared on their official Twitter account, Brand New have confirmed that plans have changed, forcing them to push the record into 2017.

The main takeaway here is that there is in fact a new Brand New album very close to completion, but the band, justifiably, doesn’t want to release it until they’re satisfied with the final product. Our advice: don’t look too hard into this one. The album will be here eventually. In the meantime, there’s plenty of great new music to listen to.

The band released a new song, “I Am A Nightmare,” over the summer.
