While Can’t Die is Farren’s first solo record (unless you count his 2014 Christmas album, Like A Gift From God Or Whatever), he’s no stranger to releasing music in a professional fashion. Farren fronted the currently-inactive Fake Problems for years before releasing a solo 7-inch titled Where U Are and two EPs and a full-length with Antarctigo Vespucci, his collaborative project with Jeff Rosenstock.
Can’t Die marks the beginning of a proper solo career for the already-prolific songwriter, who already has countless superb records under his belt. The new record is a joyful-sounding pop romp that dives deep into Farren’s psyche, questioning his own mental health, social anxiety, and dealing with depression.
