James Vincent McMorrow announces new album, releases single “Rising Waters”

James Vincent McMorrow

Fans of songwriter James Vincent McMorrow have some fantastic news to celebrate today. The Irish singer wrote a lengthly open letter on Facebook this morning, in which he announced both a new album, We Move, and released the first single from said album, “Rising Water.”

The entire album will be executive produced by McMorrow and Nineteen85, who has notably worked with hip-hop giants Drake and Nicki Minaj. In addition to having some excellent production, it sounds like the newest album will be a deeply personal record. McMorrow writes, “In every part of this new album I see myself. I hear it in every lyric and every note. And it’s still terrifying. But it’s exactly what I needed to make.” Nineteen85 is also responsible for the production on “Rising Water,” and if the first single from the album is any indication, We Move is going to be a spectacular album.

After streaming “Rising Water,” you can read McMorrow’s full letter below. We Move will be out September 2, and can be pre-ordered here.
