Slaves perform half set in small Paris venue for fans

Currently on tour in mainland Europe, Slaves stopped by a small-capacity venue in Paris that wasn’t packed, maybe because of the football European cup held in France. The show was supported by two local bands, first of which was Soulwarden, a hardcore band who did their best to get people moving, sadly in vain, as many were just entering the venue when the band was half finished. The second band to open for the night was From A Broken Stereo, known in Paris to be supporting many of the hardcore shows in the French capital. Despite mashing various genres into each song, they managed to create some of the few moshpits on this particular night.

A disappointment for the fans of Slaves—who sang back the lyrics to most of the songs—frontman Jonny Craig announced the end of the show only half an hour after starting, meaning the show was cut in half (running order announced Slaves to be playing an one hour show).

A fun aside from the evening: A note on Slaves’ merch table read, “I need a new MacBook, all tips are welcomed,” with a cup next to it.
