Watch the actual, literal death of Say Anything in “Give A Damn” music video

Say Anything made waves earlier this year when they dropped their new album, I Don’t Think It Is, with zero advance notice. If that wasn’t enough, the album took a pretty big sonic left turn from the rest of Say Anything’s catalog, sounding more in common at times with avant garde groups like Death Grips than anything you saw on Warped Tour in 2004.

So it should come as no surprise that the video for I Don’t Think It Is‘ lead single, “Give A Damn,”  depicts a Say Anything superfan hearing the new album for the first time and being sent into a murderous rage—and the end result is a whole lot of blood and guts being spilled. However, we should probably point out the final scene in the clip, which features a (presumably snuffed-out) Max Bemis with a smile on his face, perhaps indicating that he’d rather be dead than kowtow to anyone else’s musical whims. Symbolism!
