PREMIERE: September Stories’ “Regret” is a cross between La Dispute and Dashboard Confessional

September Stories

Ohio native Andrew Baughman is definitely trying something new on Unopened Letter, his debut EP as September Stories. The songs are mostly acoustic-based with orchestral flourishes and sometimes a surprising full-band element. But they’re most memorable based on how Baughman approaches his vocals, treating each song as more of a poetry reading than a vocal performance. Today, we’re premiering the music video for “Regret.” Baughman elaborates:

“‘Regret’ was a way for me to be able to express how moving houses and just growing up overall felt. Mainly focusing on the loss of control that comes about as you get older, and how things around you change without you really noticing until it’s already too late.”

September Stories’ Unopened Letter EP is available now via InVogue Records.
