After taking a number of years off while frontman Tim Kasher did his thing both in Cursive and as a solo artist, Nebraska quartet the Good Life returned to active duty in 2015 with an awesome new album Everybody’s Coming Down. We already quizzed Kasher on the inspiration behind all the songs on the record and we had a lengthy conversation with the frontman about the band’s recommission, so the next logical step was to beg and plead with them to let us debut their new music video for “Diving Bell,” directed by Good Life bassist/vocalist Stefanie Drootin-Senseney. She explains the concept behind the trippy clip:

“I’ve always had an affinity for drive-thru car washes. There’s something soothing and otherworldly about them. It’s so anxiety-inducing, lining up the tires with the tracking system, but as soon as I put the car into neutral and the conveyor takes over I’m at ease in the weird aquatic landscape. ‘Diving Bell’ touches on the same kind of solitary, submerged escape-from-anxiety theme, so it seemed like the perfect marriage.”

The Good Life’s Everybody’s Coming Down is available now via Saddle Creek.
