The developments in Flint, Michigan, throughout the past few months regarding the safety of their water supply are depressing to say the least, but on the plus side, it has given many musicians a cause to rally around, from Macklemore sitting in on a Flint community meeting to the Swellers reuniting for a brand new song on a Flint water crisis compilation.
Now, Flint resident Danny Moilanen has taken it a step further and organized the first-ever Vehicle City Fest, taking place June 3-5 at a variety of venues in downtown Flint, Michigan. Among the bands slated to perform are the World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die [pictured], Koji, Dowsing, Kittyhawk, Signals Midwest and many more, including seven bands yet to be announced.
Proceeds from the festival will go to FlintKids.org, an organization created to help children in the Flint area who are suffering from lead exposure due to contaminated water. You can find more details at Vehicle City Fest’s Facebook page, and you can see the currently confirmed lineup below:
