PREMIERE: Colour Revolt’s Sean Kirkpatrick starts fresh with Greater Pyrenees’ debut LP

Greater Pyrenees

Second chances are a hell of a thing. Oxford, Mississippi’s Sean Kirkpatrick spent nearly a decade as the guitarist/vocalist of Colour Revolt, a moody, angst-laden, alt-rock unit that encountered more than their fair share of hardship along the way before coming to a halt in 2012. Kirkpatrick has shed whatever psychic baggage he may have carried with him through Colour Revolt’s career and started fresh as Greater Pyrenees, the newest artist signed to Procrastinate! Music Traitors, the record label run by former Colour Revolt tourmates Brand New. Greater Pyrenees’ self-titled debut is 10 tracks of wispy indie pop with a surprisingly sunny outlook, but with enough inner turmoil to still connect on a visceral level. Kirkpatrick comments:

“This album has been three years in the making. There is a great deal of excitement and satisfaction I feel for those who have been eager to give this record a listen. I hope the attention to detail is palpable for the listeners. My hope is that people can appreciate this record as a collection of different attitudes and perspectives that I have gathered over the course of the past few years.”

Greater Pyrenees’ Greater Pyrenees will be released April 15 via Procrastinate! Music Traitors and can be pre-ordered here.
