Hit The Lights premiere “Lighthouse” off upcoming acoustic EP

Hit The Lights

Ohio natives Hit The Lights have revealed plans to release an acoustic EP titled Just To Get Through To You on May 6 through Pure Noise Records. The record will feature never before heard acoustic versions of several fan favorites, including “Drop The Girl” and “Save Your Breath,” as well as a new track titled “Lighthouse.” You can stream the of the new song at the end of this post.

Speaking about the decision to include “Lighthouse” on the new EP, vocalist Nick Thompson commented:

“Lighthouse” is a much different HTL track that could only be released on an acoustic EP like this. We didn’t originally plan on having a new song included in the release of Just to Get Through to You, it’s one of those songs that just happened and we feel it’s a great way to end the EP. It’s a love song. It doesn’t pretend to be anything else, it doesn’t reach for any type of “edge,” or try to be different just for the sake of being different. We’ve recorded other acoustic songs, but the simplicity of “Lighthouse” is what sets it apart from the others. It wrote itself and we hope our fans enjoy it for what it is.”

The news of this EP comes just weeks after Hit The Lights released their video for “No Filter,” one of the most talked about songs of 2015’s Summer Bones, and less than a month before the band is set to headline the Pure Noise Records tour with labelmates Seaway, Boston Manor, Can’t Swim, and Casey Bolles. Dates for the tour can be found under the song stream below.

Just To Get Through To You will be released on May 6. Pre-orders are available now and are expected to ship in time for the EP’s release.
