Thrice frontman covers Brand New, Radiohead, Miley Cyrus and more on new live album

Dustin Kensrue

Thrice frontman Dustin Kensrue has had a busy 12 months, from dropping a killer solo album Carry The Fire to reuniting his beloved post-hardcore group Thrice for a series of reunion tours (and a promise of a new album, to boot). But before 2016 gets too busy for him, Kensrue is dropping Thoughts That Float On A Different Blood, a 10-track live album recorded over two nights last December in Santa Ana, California. But this isn’t just any live album: Different Blood is comprised entirely of cover songs, ranging from Radiohead’s “Creep” and Brand New’s “Jesus Christ” to, uh, Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.” Other artists Kensrue tackles include Lorde, Counting Crows and Tom Waits, whose “Down Here By The Train” you can stream now. Thoughts That Float On A Different Blood will be released March 18 via Vagrant Records; pre-order the album digitally or physically while you peruse the tracklist below.
