Prism Tats signs to ANTI-, announces self-titled LP and tour with Nada Surf

Prism Tats

ANTI- Records, the label currently representing acts as eclectic as Title Fight, Dr. Dog, Mavis Staples and Wilco, recently announced the next act to join their ranks: Los Angeles rock outfit Prism Tats.

The brashly played, highly distorted, exceptionally crafted band is the work vocalist/guitarist Garett Van der Spek. Originally hailing from Durban, South Africa, Van der Spek relocated to Los Angeles to further explore music.

The entirety of Prism Tats’ self-titled debut record was written and recorded by Van der Spek, finding influence from the likes of Beatles, Bowie, Hendrix, Kinks, Sabbath, and a variety of other unique influences from the artist’s father’s record collection. Prism Tats will be released on April 15th. Hear lead single “Pacifist Masochist” below.

After the release of the record, the band will spend a short stint on the west coast opening for Nada Surf. You can find a track list for the record, as well as tour dates, below.
