Let’s be honest: You probably don’t associate Chuck Ragan with video gamers. One spends his day outdoors, catching fish and growing a damn fine beard; the others spend their days indoors, eating Filets-O-Fish and growing some scraggly-ass neckbeards. But today, the two worlds collide with the release of The Flame In The Flood, the new video game for PC, Mac and Xbox One via Steam. The game, created by folks who had a hand in the BioShock, Halo, Guitar Hero and Rock Band series, recruited Ragan to write and perform a full-length soundtrack to the game. And it’s not an odd of a fit as you might expect: TFITF is game that takes place in “the backwaters of post-societal America” where the player is encouraged to forage, build and evade predators—all things to which Ragan can relate. He comments:

“’The Flame In The Flood’ is a collection of songs of survival. Written from the perspective of a drifter, nomad and explorer, ‘The Flame In The Flood’ will take you on a journey down that river in search of a safe haven. I feel so blessed to not only be a part of such a strong and active music community but to be able to share the stage, write with and learn from the people that I work with is such a healthy and revitalizing way to work.”

Chuck Ragan’s The Flame In The Flood is available now via Ten Four Records.
