PREMIERE: If you dig Sleater-Kinney and/or ‘Twin Peaks,’ Good English’s “The Fire Walk” is for you

Good English

When it came time for Dayton, Ohio, rock trio Good English to work on their new songs, they turned to the great unifier: The practice space. The three Rasmussen sisters wrote their new, self-titled album side by side, feeding off one another and letting each track form naturally—in the case of “The Fire Walk,” almost subconsciously, as frontwoman Elizabeth Rasmussen explains:

“The melody of the song came quickly and without any forethought; however, the lyrics took on a life of their own after I realized how easily attributed the random lines I had been saying in practice could be to the TV show ‘Twin Peaks.’ I decided the song would have an allusion to the show and many lines can be directly related to it.”

Good English’s Good English will be released March 11 and can be pre-ordered here.

Good English has a handful of Ohio shows scheduled this month:

Feb 12 The Bevy In Birdtown Lakewood, OH
Feb 20 W.O. Wright’s Dayton, OH
Feb 26 CD 102.5 Big Room Bar Columbus, OH
