Albany, New York-based MC Upgrade has been in the rap game since 2010, cutting his teeth through homemade remixes of B.o.B., Rihanna, Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa tracks among others. But he’s developed a distinct voice throughout the past few years, and 2016 is poised to be his biggest year yet, with the recent release of his new album Chemical Imbalance: Another Dose on Equal Vision Records. Today, we’re premiering the music video for “I Don’t Fit In,” one of Chemical Imbalance‘s most personal tracks. Upgrade explains:

“I always felt like I belonged on another planet. I feel like I see and analyze things differently. Once I started to notice this, I spent less time trying to fit in and more time accepting the fact I’ll always be a loner. Being in and out of doctor’s offices almost reinforced this feeling since I felt like there was a bunch of people trying to analyze the way I am or find a way to correct this ‘chemical imbalance’ going on in my brain. This song is about the struggle of working up to the acceptance of being different.”

Upgrade HipHop’s Chemical Imbalance: Another Dose is available now via Equal Vision Records (physical/digital).
