PREMIERE: New Jersey punks Lost In Society get gritty with “I Want To Know”

Lost In Society

New Jersey and punk rock go together like peanut butter and jelly. From the Misfits to the Bouncing Souls to the Gaslight Anthem, there is a long tradition of exciting, passionate punk coming out of the Garden State, and Lost In Society is the latest in a long line of bands to fly that flag. The Asbury Park trio even recruited Bouncing Souls guitarist Pete Steinkopf to produce their new album, Modern Illusions. Today, we’re premiering “I Want To Know,” fast-paced, Lawrence Arms-esque salvo that barely cracks two minutes. Vocalist Zach Moyle explains:

“‘I Want To Know’ is basically conveying the current frustration and divide between the classes in America. A classic greed vs. need storyline. This song took over a year to take its final form and almost ended up on the cutting room floor before its final incarnation. I’m happy it didn’t, and I hope everyone agrees.”

Lost In Society’s Modern Illusions will be released February 26 via Handsome Stranger Records and can be pre-ordered here.

Lost In Society’s album-release show for Modern Illusions will take place February 25 at St. Vitus in Brooklyn, New York.
