The Anniversary’s Josh Berwanger returns with new band, debut EP coming soon

Sometimes, it seems like the Anniversary is the only turn-of-the-century emo band not getting back together for a bunch of shows or getting their back catalog reissued on 180-gram vinyl, and that’s a shame: The Vagrant Records band made two killer records and were always a force to be reckoned with live. But former frontman Josh Berwanger is still making music, and has just announced his new project, simply titled Berwanger. The trio’s debut EP, the six-song Demonios, will be released December 11 via High Dive Records and can be pre-ordered here. You can stream the title track below.

Berwanger—the man, but presumably the band as well—will be appearing at the following shows over the next month:

11/19 – Lawrence, KS @ The Replay Lounge
11/21 – Omaha, NE @ O’Leavers
11/30 – Kansas City, MO @ The Recordbar w/the Get Up Kids
12/10 – Manhattan, KS @ The Hat
12/11 – Kansas City, MO @ Mills Record Company (In-store EP Release Show)
12/11 – Kansas City, MO @ Blind Tiger (EP Release Show) w/the Conquerors
12/12 – Lawrence, KS @ The Replay Lounge (EP Release Show) w/the Conquerors, Psychic Heat
