New York City’s the Black Atlas deals in a type of metal that could sit comfortably between legendary bands like Isis and Neurosis, or contemporaries like O’Brother. Their new EP, Devils (Volume II Of The Equinox) was recorded with Jesse Clasen (former vocalist of HRVRD) and shows all kinds of potential. Today, we’re debuting the music video for “Moonsong,” directed by John Komar. Black Atlas frontman Pete Koronios explains:
“Working with John Komar of KINARF was something I had wanted to do for a while. He’s an extremely creative filmmaker and we worked together throughout the entire process to creative a visual interpretation of the intense, dreamlike imagery which I feel ‘Moonsong’ evokes. There’s some very deliberate symbolism, which might be interesting to people with the eyes to see it. It was also a lot of fun turning Melissa Boatright into a night-demon.”
