Deftones cancels remainder of European tour after Paris terrorist attack

California hard rock act Deftones has canceled the remainder of their European tour. The band was scheduled to perform at Le Bataclan—the same venue terrorists struck on November 13—from November 14 through November 16, with dates in Germany and the U.K. as well. While the Paris dates were already confirmed as canceled, the band has now officially confirmed they are headed back to the U.S. early, saying, “We have been to Paris many, many times, and we’ve had some of the most amazing shows in this tremendously electric city. With this being said, and with our deepest condolences, love and respect to everyone affected, and to all of us who share this planet, we must return home to our loved ones. We will return when appropriate.”

It has also been confirmed that members of Deftones and their crew were actually in attendance at Eagles Of Death Metal’s concert on November 13 but left the venue shortly before the terrorists arrived.

Deftones isn’t the only band to cancel their European tour in the wake of Paris’ terrorist attacks: Foo Fighters did the same, and U2 and Simple Plan also canceled concerts in Paris.
