PREMIERE: Samuel Powers’ “The Exits” is a pop-punk power ballad inspired by ‘Boy Meets World’

There’s no doubt about it: Maryland pop-punk quintet Samuel Powers is clearly comprised of ’90s kids. Sure, their band name is a nod to Screech from Saved By The Bell, but not only that, “The Exits,” the final song on their new, Brett Romnes-produced EP, Empty Halls. Future Friends., is inspired by none other than the final episode of Boy Meets World. The band comments:

“To us, ‘Boy Meets World’ is one of the most rad shows of our boyhood and that’s why we spun Mr Feenie’s golden last words of the series into the main lyric of the song, ‘I love you all, class dismissed.'”

Samuel Powers’ Empty Halls. Future Friends. EP is available now on Little Heart Records (CD/iTunes).

Samuel Powers has a handful of regional shows coming up this November:

Nov 06 Chapala’s Burtonsville, MD
Nov 21 Olde Town Frederick, MD
