Pop-punk is inherently a summertime genre, right? It’s youthful and exciting, it makes you jump up and down alongside hundreds of strangers and sounds good as shit blasting out of your car stereo when the windows are rolled down. But what do you do when the summer ends? Well, if you’re Canadian pop-punks Seaway, you keep the party going. The band’s new album, Colour Blind, might be coming out as the leaves are changing but the songs are pure summertime bliss—even if they’re about drunken nights and the following mornings, full of heartache and hangovers. Guitarist Andrew Eichinger elaborates:

“The idea for ‘Best Mistake’ originally came from a deep cut demo that didn’t make ‘All In My Head’ but that we still really liked. We re-worked it a ton and completely turned the song around into one of our favorite songs to date. The song is about the events surrounding an instance where you find or stumble upon someone almost by mistake but then ultimately realize that it was never really a mistake at all and actually a perfect situation.”

Seaway’s Colour Blind will be released October 23 via Pure Noise Records and New Damage Records and can be pre-ordered physically and digitally.
