Los Angeles trio XO Stereo has quite the post-hardcore pedigree—bassist Jon Weisberg was the bassist for From First To Last during the Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has A Bodycount days, and guitarist Justin Whitesel did time in Ferret Records act LoveHateHero for a few years, contributing to their third album America Underwater. But while their debut EP, The Struggle, is full of aggressive and catchy hard rock, it also doesn’t devolve into screamo cliches like some might expect. The music is tightly wound and expertly played, with vocals that fall somewhere in between Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington and Anberlin’s Stephen Christian. Today, we’re premiering the entirety of The Struggle EP. Vocalist/drummer Cooper Campbell comments:

“Life is not without its share of ups and downs, and if you want something bad enough, it’s up to you and nobody else to make it happen. In the end, how you handle the struggle is what makes all the difference. We truly hope everyone enjoys ‘The Struggle’ as much as we enjoyed creating it.”

XO Stereo’s The Struggle EP will be released October 2 via Another Century Records and can be pre-ordered here.
