PREMIERE: From Under The Willow’s ‘Ungrateful • Misguided’ is a perfect mix of mosh and melody

Lancaster, Pennsylvania, has been a hotbed for metalcore in recent years, from the massive success of August Burns Red to the more recent achievements of Texas In July. From Under The Willow is hoping to follow in the footsteps of those bands with their debut album, Ungrateful • Misguided, though it’s not a mere soundalike. The verse riffs are techy and thick, reminiscent of Glass Cloud’s best material, but the choruses are widescreen, bringing to mind someone like We Came As Romans. (It’s worth noting that WCAR vocalist Dave Stephens actually guests on the album track “Like Minds.”) Today, we’re premiering the album in its entirety. Vocalist Wes Good explains:

“The [album] is about the inner struggle in not understanding the difference between love and lust, and how powerful emotions can draw you into situations that should be left unexplored. Situations where maybe walking away and leaving everything behind is the only way for someone to make progress in their life.”

From Under The Willow’s Ungrateful • Misguided comes out September 25 via CI Records and can be pre-ordered here.
